Carlsbad Rotarian opens Charitable Surgical Clinic in Cabo San Lucas
In 2011, the Rotary Club of
Carlsbad members, Dr. Jeff Moses and Ed Scarpelli, worked with the
Rotary Club of Los Cabos and Cabo San Lucas to work with the Smiles International Foundation’s new project entitled, “SMILES OF CABO SAN LUCAS”,
for surgical services to be performed twice a year on the hundreds of children afflicted with
Facial Cleft deformities living in the 500 mile region North of Los Cabos, Baja
Sur, Mexico within the Rotary District 4100. The Smiles of Cabo San Lucas project expanded and has hundreds of registered patients and is held twice annually during the weeks following the FOURTH MONDAY of each April and October. This October, gathered data for just the previous three years' Clinics showed benefits as follows:
